Been a pretty awesome day with another release of 40 pateke into Arthur's Valley, Milford Sound. The chopper ride in and out from glenorchy was breath taking and reminds you how lucky we are to live in such a special country.
As always a special thank you to all of our captive breeding facilities that keep producing juvenile pateke for release, Isaac Conservation Trust, Anne and the team for pre-release conditioning the birds and getting the birds ready for today. Air New Zealand. for transporting the birds to Queenstown.
Now the Department of Conservation - Fiordland team can keep an eye on them and hopefully see more ducklings out there.
